So I saw the new Star Trek movie and even though I had a few WTF moments I really did like the movie alot. Definetly worth seeing more than once and worth going to see in the movie theater. I'm glad I decided not to wait until it came out on DVD. I'm also eternally greatful that they stated in the movie that everything that happened in the movie was now set during an alternate timeline. Which made some of the WTF moments acceptable to me at the end of the movie because its basically any movies based off this one or shows is like the mirror universe.
I was worried that they were going to re-write the original timeline and I think a lot of people would have been upset if they did, which is good that they just decided to create a alternate realtity that branched off of the original timeline. All in all, it was a good movie and I look forward to seeing it again.

(My mother, who does not even like Star Trek, loved the movie if that tells you guys anything ^-^)
